Black Powder Perfume Oil - smoke, gunpowder, old leather, tea (smoky and black), snowdrifts, firewood, Siberian Fir, spicy cinnamon clove candies, cherry, apple, galbanum and a little spirit....or two.
This scent originated from a custom order I made that had various note combinations of ‘Tatia & Shura’, ‘Misunderstood’, and ‘Russian Spice Tea’. And I added a few nuances. It’s based on a winter cabin in the woods complete with snow covered ground.
Outside, Siberian Firs sway in the distance and the air is a mixture of chimney smoke against snow. Inside the cabin sits a samovar of cherry tea, red hot cinnamon/clove candies in a small dish, a glowing fireplace, and Grandpa’s leather coat, along with a hunting gun hanging on the wall. And probably a little something hidden behind the couch that grandpa likes to add in his thermos of coffee whenever he goes out hunting or for a long walk.
If one loves winter, you’ll appreciate the notes but, even if you don’t, you may be surprised. The reason for the name ‘Black Powder’ is the actual scent of gunpowder in the fragrance. It’s not super strong but, if one knows the scent, then it’ll be detected right away. Personally, it’s the note that stands out most for me, a smoky gunpowder. If you really have a nose that ‘knows’, you’ll smell a touch of each note. So, I’m really thanking this beautiful customer who was the inspiration for this fragrance.
