Hemingway Haunts Perfume - sugarcane, cantaloupe, green banana, green mandarin, citrus mist, and amber.
This is another scent I’ve been focusing on for quite some time. I played and played for months to represent something that focused on Ernest Hemingway’s time in Cuba but, decided to extend it to Key West, FL also. I mean, he haunted so many different locales but, his favorites always seemed to lie in those two areas.
Originally, I devised a pipe accord as part of this scent because Hemingway seemed to always have a pipe in his mouth in so many photos and one could easily see where that note relates to the exotic island of Cuba. Rum was also part of the equation. But. Things changed. I really like the way the scent presents itself alone, without the pipe accord. So wearing this, one may think about fields of sugarcane. If you’ve ever sucked for hours on a stalk of cane, you’ll know what I mean. The mix of cantaloupe and green banana create a velvet like sensation in this scent and green mandarin was added for a slight citrus note. Underneath these notes are amber and sandalwood. It’s very nice paired with the tobacco accord too, for a more masculine touch.
If this scent were a color, it'd be muskmelon.
