Honey Bunnies Diorama-shadow box-assemblage fairytale art-mixed media-one of a kind
This box is 5.5 x 4 x 1.5" and started out unfinished. I added a cherry stain and gave it a distressed look and painted it a pale shade of blue green. On the outside are a couple brass blue keys and on top is a brass drawer pull, not to be used to pick up the box though. Inside is a little girl sitting on a moss covered bench, enjoying her tea and honey with lots of bunnies. A little bird sits atop a fairy door and an enamel bee flies overhead. Several acrylic cabochons are included, along with a floral flower and a tiny cross, a hand-painted mushroom and other ephemera. Lots of fun little wonders lie in this one waiting to be seen. There's even smithering sprigs of grass.
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile.
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from combinations of used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. This piece is equipped with a sawtooth claw hanger on back, but can stand upright all on its own. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.
