Shadow Box Art - Mardi Gras -unique gift, wall art, mixed media, object art, OOAK, rare find, king cake-hanging wall decor.
 
Mardi Gras shadow box is 12" x 8.5". I used an unfinished plywood box, painted it purple and interspersed fuchsia glitter throughout. It's filled with all kinds of goodies such as a vintage "Louisiana" mini tin car plate that used to be the "free" surprise in some boxes of cereal back in the 1980's. Plastic Mardi Gras beads are framed inside and surrounded by acrylic vase filler gems. It's complete with baby king cake sitting on a mini glass jar of Mardi Gras confetti and includes other found ephemera. The only thing missing is a fleur de lis, the Harlequin jester and a plate full of good Cajun food. I attached a glass dresser drawer knob to the top to add a bit of laniappe. 
 
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small flaws or imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile. 
 
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. 
 
This item is for home decoration only and is not a toy. It is freestanding but, can be hung with the sawtooth hanger attached to the back. 
It is not intended for small children. 
The items inside are not removable. They are glued in with very strong -bonding glue. Some of the objects, such as the letters are sponge stickers and the flowers are made of fabric. 
DO NOT use drawer pull to pick the box up. It's for decorative purposes only. 
 
I package my items carefully and securely and ship via USPS, either 1st Class or Priority mail, depending on weight. I am not responsible for damages incurred during transit to its destination. A claim can be filed with the United States Postal Service via https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
