Nostalgia Diorama -shadow box- nostalgic objects assemblage art - mixed media-old school
 
This is a 5 x 5" box I distressed and painted an antique off white. The box is lined in some old brads I cut and shaved down. Inside lies clock faces and several objects of nostalgia. Back in the day there's the old school washing machine, the old black telephone we all had, an old style camera, a crock pot, an old boom box, tv, hand held telephone and more. It's just a fun little box I put together for those who remember a time when things were less computerized and people actually had to talk. We had three channels on our tvs and couldn't take our old black phones around throughout the house whenever we received a phone call. 
 
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile. 
 
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from combinations of used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. This piece can be hung with the sawtooth claw hanger on back. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.

The items inside are not removable. They are glued in with very strong-bonding glue. Please do not pull on the items, as they can be detached if pulled hard enough.
