Nuance of Spring Perfume Oil - tulips, marshmallow peeps, new spring grass, and hot cross buns.
This scent is all about colorful tulips, spring green- yellow grass, marshmallow Peeps, honey buttered hot cross buns powdered with confectioner’s sugar, butter creme eggs, honeyed citron, honeysuckle, and pink peppercorn with very minor hints of lily of the valley, clover, musk, and vanilla.
This is spring in a bottle, nectar for the hummingbirds. It’s the first subtle notes that bring back memories from the beginning of spring. It’s colorful bright tulips in every hue of brightness and new, fresh spring green grass that almost glows. It’s the sweetness of marshmallow Peeps sprinkled with sugar and soft butter creme eggs the little ones find in their Easter baskets on Easter Sunday morning. It’s hot cross buns with cinnamon and powdered confectioner’s sugar sprinkled on top and laden with honey butter. There’s a note of honeyed citron that reminds me of going into a particular shop during spring in Vancouver, B.C. And wild honeysuckle, the kind I used to walk through as a child and always pick the tips off to suck the juice, and still do. There’s a very small hint of spicy pink peppercorn but, not enough to present spiciness. This is a floral -foody gourmand but, heavier on the floral. I’ve never been a ‘floral’ person but, I really am mesmerized by this particular scent of tulip.
It’s very rare I indulge in making springtime scents but, decided it was time to change that. This is my own rendition of what spring smells like in my mind and memories of spring as a child and going forward into adulthood. It represents places I’ve lived and visited, up until the present, where I’d never experienced the joy of eating hot cross buns until many years into adulthood. It’s rare to find many scents centered around tulips. Growing up in the south, we didn’t have many tulips but, the Pacific NW was full of them in springtime. I’d walk down to the park every day, which was actually a graveyard by our home, just to smell and look at the tulips. It seemed like they were there for months during spring. It was sheer bliss. So, the main note in this fragrance is a very grounded, true to life, tulip, mixed with soft expressions of springtime vibes.
