Nutcracker Ballet - Shadow Box Art-mixed media, unique gifts, OOAK art
 
This Nutcracker Ballet started as 5" x 5" unfinished wooden box which I painted light pink and trimmed with tiny black cabochons. Within lies a pink nutcracker and ballerina that were ornaments.  I added rhinestones embellishment and a bow to each. An oval black rose cabochon, which I made as a piece of jewelry years ago, is centered in the middle. More cabochons and some stickers surround it. 
 
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. This piece can be hung with the rope hanger and it's also equipped with a sawtooth hanger on back, but can stand upright all on its own. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing. 
 
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small flaws or imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile. It'd make a great gift for Christmas, Valentine's, birthdays. The options are endless. It may appeal to a person who has a love for ballet, especially The Nutcracker.

The items inside are not removable. They are glued in with very strong-bonding glue.
