Pretty Time Perfume Oil - rain, honey, lavender, lemon, clover, powder, air, soil, rose, musk, bergamot with slight undertones of cucumber, pear, cyclamen, lily, and melon.
"Shine on, O moon of summer.
Shine to the leaves of grass, catalpa and oak,
All silver under your rain tonight.
An Italian boy is sending songs to you tonight from an accordion.
A Polish boy is out with his best girl; they marry next month; tonight they are throwing you kisses.
An old man next door is dreaming over a sheen that sits in a cherry tree in his back yard.
The clocks say I must go-I stay here sitting on the back porch drinking white thoughts you rain down.
Shine on, O moon, Shake out more and more silver changes. "Back Yard" Carl Sandburg
"Pretty Time" is a very special scent for me. Growing up in the south we had a lot of rain during the spring and summer months. After the rain came the sun and a rainbow. With the fresh rain coating all the flowers, grass, ozone, and atmosphere, a very unique scent and scene awakened and came into the world. My Dad called this "Pretty Time". He'd always come get my brother and I so we could see the amazing green and yellow color outside and smell all the blossoms mixed together after the rain. This usually always took place in our own backyard, this mystery. There's really no way to describe this scent unless you've lived in the south. It's a mix of ozone, botanicals, and all that's sweet after the rain. Honeysuckle, Olive trees, and greenery always come to mind. My Dad was right, it was a beautiful distinctive aromatic time that I've never been able to smell living anywhere else. Even though growing up we missed out on all the much wanted snow, there was always this unique time during the spring and summer in order to look forward to experiencing. There is no way in my limited capacity to capture this complete scent in a fragrance. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure anything could capture it but, I suppose it's the closest I'll come. I know many of you can appreciate this wonderful aroma. It really reminds me of my Dad in such a good way. He could always pick out the smallest, and what many people may think insignificant details, to be of the most splendid of occasion. Learning all his many musings has made me appreciate even the simplest of things in life. If you can't get to the Southern States to ever experience this, maybe try the fragrance. The actual scent is indescribable when experienced but, I've tried to capture it in a bottle as close as can be.
