Shadow Box Art -Small Coastal Town - blue, green, yellow, mixed media, art assemblage, unique ooak gifts, handmade.
 
This box started as a 6 x 4" unfinished wood box I stained, then brushed a crackle medium, and painted a shade of ocean blue. The inside of the box is painted a pearlized sheen of baby blue and contains several layers of glitter flakes and caviar beads for the various layers of the sky. These lie beneath a layer of resin glue. I painted and placed several small houses of different shapes to represent that look you get at the beach with all the homes side by side in varying shades. The outside of the box is lined in mosaic glass tiles. The box is a variety of blue shades, accompanied by greens and yellow. 
 
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile. 
 
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. This piece can be hung with the rope hanger and it's also equipped with a sawtooth hanger on back, but can stand upright all on its own. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.

The items inside are not removable. They are glued in with very strong-bonding glue.
