Waterfall Hopping Perfume Oil-dusty hydrangea, oakmoss, creek stones, ozone, fern, patchouli, woods.

This scent is from the “water series”.

Waterfall hopping is a real thing. At least, that’s my own name for it. In the summer, we’ll hit the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina. For a handful of days, we’ll see exactly how many waterfalls we can find in a day. The catch is, each one is unique and begs a visit. Swimming is a must in them, at least the ones where people are allowed to swim. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the dazzling beauty of a fall, we make a day out of it, especially if there’s a bit of a hike involved to get there.

This scent is based on the element of water, but not in the literal sense. Not saying that you won’t catch the mineral vibe within it. There’s a bit of earthen stones that are dampened and slick from water, against oakmoss, and greenery of woods from the walk. This past summer, we went back to one of our favorite waterfalls to swim. In a small leafy damp spot, underneath some bracken, near the waterfall, I noticed a bouquet of flowers that had been placed in memory of someone who had died the previous year, while there. In the middle of the flowers was a huge bluish purple hydrangea that had a slight coating of dust. It was wilted but, its scent was still strong. So, the floral note in this scent came from that memory. I later did some research on the individual who died there. The person was quite young and actual circumstances were a bit mysterious. But, hydrangea made its way into this fragrance because of that. Patchouli and clean musk mingle as mere hints. The oakmoss is what packs the punch.

When I first let my youngest son try this, he immediately said it smelled fresh, like the pond we swim in. He’s not keen on sweet scents but, he likes fresh notes. So, if this scent had a color, I'm calling it "Pond Sheen".
